Green credentials for Cre8tive Interiors

Solar Panels

We decided in 2015 to make use of the roof space on our Unit in Devizes by installing 50 solar panels on the roof.

The peak power that the panels can produce is 14kwh and we have a 14kwh inverter at the building which needed special permission from SSE. The standard permitted for most buildings is 3.7kwh.

Natural light into the office space

The roof has natural light panels installed, the upstairs office space has no suspended ceiling, we wanted to keep the light panels free from being blocked up by the solar panels to continue letting light into the office.

When we look at office space design, we are always conscious of maximizing natural light into any office space. It is one of the reasons why we try and introduce glass partitioning as much as possible. Natural light is always better than artificial light.

Although we are in the business of installing suspended ceilings, in our office we chose not to install it upstairs so we could use the light panels in the roof. Most of spring and summer, we do not have the lights on.

EPC A rating

We have insulated all of the external walls to the building, and have LED lighting throughout. We have recently had the building assessed and were pleased to achieve an ‘A’ rating.

Tesla

A few years ago we decided to lease a completely electric car, a Tesla. We have no fuel costs to worry about as the car is charged overnight, and it is in line with our plan to reduce our carbon footprint.

Waste Recycling

All of our waste from projects is recycled. For us, we use proper skip recycling companies local to where the work is being carried out. We separate the waste, plasterboard unfortunately has to go into landfill but all of the steel, aluminum and timber removed from site is recycled. We always use commercial waste removal companies and take the waste removal seriously.
